According to Sanatan dharma Pitru Paksha is the fortnight when we remember those family members, friends & associates that are no longer with us and offer our oblations to God, sages and Pitras. It is also an important tradition to donate food during the period. In doing Pitru tarpan, we express our gratitude to the souls who have brought grace, wisdom, protection and love to our lives. We honour our ancestors by doing Tarpan vidhi and ‘Daan’.
